A new work by VIVO Next composition Fellow Calvin Ray Shawler celebrates the future of American music, while Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring closes the season with joy and renewal. Kyle Athayde will be joining us as a guest artist for our Fall semester alongside KASA Quartet and Eddie Barbash! Kyle Athayde is a San Francisco Bay Area based musician, composer, arranger, performer, teacher, bandleader, conductor and more! He is the leader, conductor, and writer for the San Francisco/New York based big band, “Kyle Athayde Dance Party,” as well as the director of curriculum for the Lafayette Summer Music Workshop. We are thrilled to have him join us this fall! |
